Esteemed singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading MBE has been announced as the latest headline act for this year’s Towersey Festival.
Armatrading has been a presence on the music scene for 40 years with hits including Me Myself I, Drop The Pilot, Willow, All The Way From America and Love And Affection.
Armatrading is set to perform at Towersey solo, as part of her last major world tour.
Festival director Joe Heap said: “We’re very pleased to be adding Joan Armatrading to an already great Towersey bill. “Joan is a phenomenal singer-songwriter whose work spans pop, jazz, blues and acoustic music.”
Also on the bill at the festival between August 28 and 31 are Oxford band Stornoway, a four-piece who have previously performed at Glastonbury, Bellowhead, Show of Hands, Chris While and Julie Matthews, Kizzy Crawford, Lisbee Stainton and Luke Daniels.
This year’s festival takes place at Thame Showground with tickets costing £120 for adults, £110 concessions, £84 for a youth (11-17), £55 for a child (5-11) with under-5s free. Call 01629 827016 to book.
