Cyclist Peter Littlewood is in training to complete a 100 mile cycle challenge to raise money for a cause very close to his heart.

Peter, 57, from Wendover, suffered with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis as a child.

This has left him, as an adult, with arthritis in his right hip and both shoulders.

He said: “Anyone who has arthritis or has relatives or friends who have it will know just how painful and debilitating it can be.

“I have cycled for most of my life but my hip caused me to stop riding about 10 years ago.

“Two years ago I decided to fight back, bought a new bike and I have not looked back since. My hip cuases less pain now than it has for many years, maybe I have found a treatment?”

Peter, who works as a deep tissue and remedial massage therapist at Floura Health Care in Bierton, is riding from London to Surrey as part of Prudential’s RideLondon event to raise money for Arthritis Research UK.

Peter is currently riding up to 150 miles a week in training and hopes to raise a minimum of £600. If you would like to sponsor him go to or sign up at Wendover Clock Tower where forms can be found.
