The family of a woman killed while driving near Little Missenden have described her as ‘the centre of our hearts’.

Joan Johnson, of Lee Common, near Wendover, was pronounced dead at the scene after the Honda Jazz she was driving collided with a Volkswagen Golf on the A413 at around 10.30am on May 7.

Her family said: “Our beloved mother and grandmother sadly passed away on May 7 in a road traffic accident.

“She was an active member of the community in Lee Common, and was very involved with the St John the Baptist parish church in the Lee.

“She was a keen gardener and bridge player, as well as being a wonderful mother and grandmother.

“She was the centre of our hearts and will be greatly missed.”

Four other people were taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital for treatment following the crash, which happened at the junction with Chalk Lane.

PC Andy Martin, who is investigating the incident, said: “Witnesses who were heading towards Amersham have come forward but we are wondering if people going towards Aylesbury saw anything.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
