A search to find a ‘local hero’ in Aylesbury has been launched to open the new Asda store next to Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

The winner will open the store at 10am on November 18 and will receive VIP treatment before cutting the ribbon, as well as being given a £100 gift card to treat themselves in store.

Heroes can be nominated by family, friends or work colleagues and could be someone who makes life better for people in the Aylesbury area, someone who goes that extra mile for a particular cause of person or an individual renowned for their charity work.

Store manager James Stuckey said: “Feedback from customers has been really positive about our new store, especially bringing ‘Click and Collect’ to Aylesbury.

“We wanted to find a deserving local hero to celebrate with us.”

Nominations are being accepted up to November 10 and can be sent via email to or in writing to: Asda Aylesbury Hero, 3rd floor, 52 Princess Street, Manchester, M1 6JX.
