More than 1,000 runners turned out in blazing sunshine for the annual Thame 10k on Sunday.

The sportsmen and women started out at Thame Leisure Centre and made their way to Towersey before pounding back along the Phoenix Trail to the finishing line.

Organised by Thame Runners, the event’s £13 entry fee has helped many local charities in the town since 1985– including Thame Day Centre, St Andrews Lunch Club and Sustrans.

A statement on the club’s website said: “Congratulations to all those who completed the 2014 CPM Thame 10k in near perfect conditions.”
