COMEDIAN Rob Deering has called on the Thame public to help him reach a £2,000 charity target for the London Marathon.
The former Lord William’s School funny man, pictured left, will be running the famous 26.2 mile course next weekend and is still wanting to raise more money for Parkinson’s UK.
He said: “I took my charity bucket to a gig in Birmingham last week and they raised £400 so I am seeing if Thame can beat that.”
It will be the first time that Deering has attempted the distance and he has already set aside a two-week spell to recover from the experience.
He said: “I did a half marathon before and it felt marvellous to complete but for about a week after that I couldn’t even walk up the stairs so this time I am expecting it to be double that.”
