Reverend's wedding draws international visitors to Thame

Reverend Derick Chambers and Debbie Kirby married in Thame recently.

The wedding took place in Christchurch Methodist and United Reformed Church in the town, followed by a reception at The Barns Centre in Thame.

Derick, who is well known in the town is Reverend of the Christchurch Church in which he was married.

Miss Kirby, who wore a full length ivory dress, is also a member of the church and a worship leader.

Chief Bridesmaid, Debbie's sister Phillipa Sudlow, wore a bright fuchsia dress and the small bridesmaids were Helen, Debbie's goddaughter and Leah, Derick's granddaughter.

Debbie was given away by her younger brother Simon Kirby, and the best man was John Chambers - Derick's son.

People travelled from all over the UK to attend the wedding, and some from as far away as New Jersey, USA.

Derick and Debbie also enjoyed a second evening reception at Christchurch with friends from Christchurch and other local churches.

For a first honeymoon, the couple visited the Isle of Wight, but are now looking forward to a second honeymoon in Jersey.
