Abbie Broom is set to be one of the surprise highlights of Aylesbury’s biggest free two-day music festival, which takes place this weekend.
The 17 year old singer songwriter, whose family live in Thame, will perform on Sunday in Kingsbury from 12.30pm.
Although she has never performed at the event before, it won’t be her biggest show to date because she was invited to play at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire – warming up for American rock band The Gaslight Anthem.
She said: “I started playing classical guitar with I was about six and writing my own stuff about a year and a half ago.
“My music has been described as folk with teenage angst, which I think its a pretty fair description.”
Abbie also has her single Battlefield available for download. All procceds will go to the Help For Heroes charity.
She said: “I just saw stories from the news and got so angry about it I wrote this song and then thought I can do some good – it might be worth a go.”
