Dr Adam Conradi has just taken ownership of the Park Street Dental Clinic at the top of the High Street. He steps into the spotlight to answer our weekly questionnaire.

What’s your earliest memory?

Either banging on my mother’s pregnant stomach with a plastic hammer because she told me I had a new sister in there and I wanted to get her out sooner. Or throwing my dad’s car keys in the pond. I thought it was a fun game... he didn’t.

What do you wish they’d taught you at school, but didn’t?

Basic car maintenance, I sometimes feel that there is too much emphasis on academic subjects and as a result some vital day-to-day skills get omitted.

If you could do any job in the world, what would it be and why?

I love dentistry as a career, it gives me enormous job satisfaction every day.

If I had to choose something other than dentistry, I’d probably be a chef. I love to cook at home for my girlfriend, friends and family.

If you could pass one new law tomorrow, what would it be and why?

I’d make telephone sales cold-calling illegal. There’s nothing more annoying than being harassed in your own home.

You can invite three people round for dinner. Who are they and why?

Dermot Morgan (Father Ted) – he’s probably the single most common cause of me falling off my sofa. John Peel – he was always one of my most trusted sources of music information and Richard Burns (world rally driver).

If you were stuck on Death Row, what would you pick for your final meal?

Dim Sum – Delicious little parcels of savoury goodness. I’ve never really had much of a sweet tooth and will always pick the savoury option if available.

And if you could write your own epitaph what would you pick?

He made one hell of a sandwich!

If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?

Teleportation – I hate sitting in traffic.

What’s the most important lesson that life has taught you so far?

Treat everyone with the courtesy and respect you would like to receive yourself. Little things make a big difference and people remember and appreciate them.

What’s your greatest fear?

Getting to the airport and realising that I’ve forgotten my passport.

I have to check and re-check several times before leaving the house that it’s in my bag!

Which person in the public eye would you most like to meet and why?

Stephen Fry – He’d be fascinating to talk to.

He would certainly always have an interesting fact or two to liven up the conversation.

Always leave them laughing so please tell us a joke.

The oldest and cheesiest dental joke of all.

What is the best time to go to the dentist? Tooth-Hurty.
