A THAME pub has broken a world record in aid of charity.
Last week The Thatch in Thame smashed the current record for the most cappuccinos made in a single hour as part of Macmillan’s world’s biggest coffee morning theme.
The team at the pub managed to steam up an unbelievable 123 cappuccinos between 10am and 11am last Friday, beating the current record of 106.
The pub managed to raise a total of at least £174 through donations on the day and every penny of that goes towards Macmillan Cancer Support.
Frazer Sutherland, owner of The Thatch, said: “This was the first time we’d ever attempted to do anything like this and so many neighbours and friends of the pub came down to support us, it was amazing.
“To beat the world record was a brilliant feeling but we are most delighted with the amount we were able to raise for such a good cause.”
The coffee was donated by Union Hand-Roasted Coffee. The pub donated an additional £3 per cup.
