Was it a bird, was it a plane? No! It was the hundreds of people who gathered on Sunday for the Superhero Fun Run.
The family event saw runners dress up as a whole range of superheroes to take part in a 5k jog around Watermead.
Starting at the village hall, superheroes strutted their stuff around the lake to raise much-needed funds for the Florence Nightingale Hospice.
The runners were supported along the way by spectators and marshals who lined the route.
At the end of the challenge budding Batmans, wannabe Wonderwomen and almost Avengers enjoyed well-deserved refreshments at the Aeglesburgh Inn.
They also received a medal to say thank you for their efforts.
