Towersey Festival is just a few weeks away and is gearing up for a huge celebration to mark its 48th year.
The four-day festival has become a firm fixture in Thame residents’ calendar and takes place from August 23 to 27 this year.
The South (formerly The Beautiful South) headline this year’s event.
Also on the bill are BBC Radio 2 favourites and multi-award winners Bellowhead.
In the last 10 years the charity festival has raised more than £250,000 for local community projects around Oxfordshire, such as the Thame Citizens Advice Bureau and last year through sponsoring Thame Boys’ football kit.
This year the festival has set up a collaboration to fund a performing arts project with Lord Williams’s School.
Fully funded by the festival, the project will run for the week running up to the event and involves pupils working with experienced professional performers in devising a show to be performed to thousands of people at the the event.
The show will be based on the storytelling of Norse legends but will take inspiration from local tales and festival stories.
Day tickets are available at £32 and weekend camping tickets at £139.
