Bucks schoolgirl Harley Bird’s acting career has graduated from TV to the big screen after the 11 year old landed her first movie role in new film How I Live Now.

Harley, famous for being the voice of kids cartoon favourite Peppa Pig, stars as Piper in the movie adaptation of Meg Rosoff’s highly acclaimed young adult novel which was released in the UK last week.

Directed by Oscar winning “The Last King of Scotland” director Kevin Macdonald, Harley stars alongside “The Lovely Bones” actress Saoirse Ronan who plays the lead role of Daisy, Piper’s cousin.

Harley became the youngest ever BAFTA winner in November 2011, receiving the Performer award at the Children’s BAFTAs for her voice-over work.

But despite her taste of the big screen, she continues to be as grounded as ever. She attends Pipers Corner School and loves to watch local Chinnor Rugby Club with her brother and sisters.

She said: “I’m so excited that the film is finally out, I had a lot of fun filming it with Saoirse and the rest of my screen family.”

How I Live Now is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
