A much-loved village hairdresser has died after her car hit trees and bushes on Waddesdon Hill.

An inquest was opened this week into the death of Hayley Cara Hewitt, 33, who lived in Frederick Street, Waddesdon. Hayley ran the Hewitt’s Barbers in Haddenham, and it is believed that she had only recently moved to her home address.

She died on Wednesday last week, when her blue Nissan 350Z left the road and collided into trees and bushes.

This week customers and friends have flocked to Hayley’s shop, to leave floral tributes and messages expressing their shock and sadness at the tragic news.

A customer, who had his hair cut by the friendly business owner recently said: “She was really friendly, a nice, caring person. The whole village is in shock.

“Hayley had an infectious smile, which made going to the barbers more of a treat than it should have been.

“She’d take an interest in what I’d been up to and you could tell she loved her job.

“Terrible things aren’t meant to happen to people like Hayley but I like to think she’s keeping everyone’s hair trimmed and stylish up there.”

Police are now appealing for witnesses as they investigate the cause of the accident.

A date has not yet been set for the inquest.

Investigating officer, PC Reuben Hill, said: “We would ask anyone who witnessed this incident or who may have information which could assist the investigation to contact us by calling 101, and quoting reference number 1120 (17/2/16)”
