SOCIAL media will play a big role in this year’s panto, with Twitter featuring in every performance of Dick Whittington at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.
Show co-directors Jonathan Wilkes and Christian Patterson (left) are giving audience members the opportunity to tweet a joke, with the chance of having it used in the second act of the pantomime.
Wilkes said: “We want this year’s panto to be all about having fun, we’re going back to what a traditional family pantomime should be about, plenty of giggles and tons of audience participation. At the same time we’re keeping it up to date for the kids, with catchy songs, plenty of jokes and now social media, which is going to allow us to interact even more with our Aylesbury audiences – fantastic!”
Patterson said: “We are looking for a snappy joke to weave into the script and get the audience rolling about in the aisles.”
