Haddenham fire fighters help Santa collect money for charity

SANTA was joined by the firefighters of Haddenham last week, when Father Christmas and his little elves all took to the streets, to raise money for charity.

The event raised money for the Firefighters Charity and the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity.

The crew complete with a fire engine lit up with festive lights, accompanied Santa on a tour of Haddenham to the delight of local children, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night.

With collection buckets in tow, the crew knocked on doors across Haddenham asking people to dig deep to help raise much-needed funds for the two charities.

Mr Raj Patel, of Londis, donated the chocolates for the crew to hand out to onlookers as they went along.

Commenting on the event Pat Dodge, chief executive of the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, said: “A very big well done to all the crew from Haddenham Fire Station and Mr Patel from the Londis Store for your amazing efforts.

“On behalf of the Hospice, our patients and their families, we thank you.”
