A new technical college has taken a further step ahead of its opening it September 2013 by appointing a vice principal.
The Bucks University Technical College will specialise in teaching IT and construction for 14 to 18 year olds and has now appointed Sarah Newall to assist principal Beverley Flanagan.
She will have be responsible for ensuring the effective leadership and management of teaching, learning and quality.
Mrs Flanagan said: “I am absolutely delighted to have Sarah on board.
“Her previous experience as director of curriculum and business development at Aylesbury College will prove invaluable in helping me develop and implement a successful UTC curriculum.” The 600-place college is set to work closely with business such as Cisco and McAfee, which will provide tutors and materials to students and offer work placement opportunities.
Mrs Newall will work closely with the companies to prepare students for the ‘real world’ by offering meaningful work experience and an emphasis on skills in the workplace.
The new vice principal said: “I am passionate about learning and continually improving the experience and services for students.
“I will ensure that the learning culture is supportive and innovative, to get the best out of our students, as well as high success rates for the UTC.”
