MOONWALKERS RAISE FUNDS FOR CHARITIES

(THURSDAY, JULY 7) Eight women from Thame, Longwick and Long Crendon joined 15,000 bra-clad women and men to take part in The Playtex Moonwalk on Saturday June 18.

The local group walked 26.2 miles around the streets of London in the middle of the night to raise over 3,000 for breast cancer charities.

The women are mums from Ashfold School and members of Thame and District Ladies Circle.

They were all inspired to take part through having friends and close relatives who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Vicky Wheeldon, Felicia Miller, Carolyn Wright, Debbie Griffith, Sarah White, Zoe Skipworth, Vron Wooster and Kim Beazley-Clark would like to thank all their family and friends for their sponsorship and support.

The Playtex Moonwalk has raised in excess of 16 million pounds to date for health charity and organisers Walk the Walk Worldwide who grant their funds to breast cancer research and holistic cancer care charities.

Last year's event has already raised over 5m and Walk the Walk are hoping to reach their 6m target for 2005's event.
