Thame’s much-loved First Thursday Music Club returns next week with two-piece act The August List returning as headliners.

Hailing from Dorset and now living in a small barn perched on an Oxfordshire hill, The August List are married duo Martin and Kerraleigh, who play ‘backwards country/porch folk’ with a rock ‘n’ roll attitude.

Acoustic guitars, kick drums, harmonicas and their voices are deployed on songs that take in life, love, death and making merry.

After the success of their debut EP ‘Handsome Skin’ which was released in November 2012 and played on BBC Oxford radio and BBC 6 Music, they are looking forward to releasing their second EP this autumn.

The couple will be playing at the music club at the James Figg on October 3.

The free club has become a popular monthly event in Thame, with around a dozen different acts ranging from singer song writers to full bands.

Anyone can play on the night, you just need to sign up at the venue from 7.45pm, with music starting at 8.15pm.
