Longwick C of E Combined School is holding its annual art exhibition, the 24th time it has done so.
Taking place on February 18 and 19 the exhibition is set up and run by volunteers to raise funds for the school to provide equipment, activities and outings or the children.
The committee have searched high and low for passion, creativity and skill in a wide range of artwork and have successfully signed up some amazing talent.
A total of 96 professional and amateur artists, displaying more than 500 pieces of outstanding work, are taking part.
Featuring work on canvas in all kinds of media including beautiful egg tempera, linocut, stitched textiles, paint with collage, traditional oils, watercolours, acrylics, mixed media and some stunning photography, as well as a diverse range of sculptures executed in wire, clay, bronze, earthstone and raku ceramic – there is something for all tastes.
It’s a must see show with much affordable work.
Prices range from a few pounds for cards and small prints to more considerable amounts for larger and more complex pieces.
We are expecting more than 1,000 visitors over the weekend and to enhance the art show experience, we run a café, offering tea, coffee and delicious home baked cakes.
The exhibition is open 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sunday.
The entrance price is £2 and includes a complimentary catalogue. Longwick School is on Walnut Tree Lane and there is plentiful parking in the school playground and the show will be clearly signposted.
