PETER Andre may have been the star that drew the biggest ever crowd to the Thame Carnival but there is no doubt who stole the show.

The hundreds of children who paraded down the High Street on their handmade floats were a refreshing site for anybody who lined the carnival route.

It was such a big occasion for them to be cheered on by the thousands of people they passed and one that surely will stick with them for a long time to come.

John Hampden Primary School was picked out as the eventual winners of the best float, but it would be wrong not to mention other groups such as Barley Hill, the Brothers Hair Salon and the Girl Guiding group.

That is just a few that come to mind, but it was easy to tell that every person who walked down the parade had put their hearts into their costumes, with one of C3PO really sticking out.

The carnival atmosphere continued down Southern Road where the crowd battled the rain to carry on their enjoyment throughout the day.
