Walkers can continue to use a footpath which crosses the gardens of two houses, an inspector has ruled.

Following a dispute over the use of the Whitchurch route, the planning inspectorate ruled people can use the path, provided two conditions are kept to. The width of the path must be widened from one metre to one and a half metres and a stile will replace the existing gate at the top of steps leading up from the A413.
