A NEW play fort has opened at John Hampden Primary School thanks to funding from its PTA.

The group has held various fundraisers such as the summer fete, Christmas bazaar and summer ball and now the kids are reaping the rewards.

Having opened last month, it has been a hive of activity with children playing on it every play-time.

The school has even had to bring in a rota for the fort, due to its massive popularity.

There are two other trim trails available for the children to play on during their breaks – one for Key Stage 1 and one for Key Stage 2.

But the fantastic fort is unique in that it is made for all age groups across the school.

The idea for a fort came from teachers, children and the PTA as they all decided it was the best thing for the school.
