Stoke Mandeville Hospital has applied to provide a temporary 553 space car park.

The temporary car park would be located on fields adjacent to the ambulance station near entrance two and is designed to alleviate any problems while building works are carried out on the hospital’s new 300 space mutli-storey car park.

The work is set to get under way in September and will result in current parking spots being lost.

The temporary car park could be used for a period of up to two years.

Parking at and around the hospital has been a problem for many years with people complaining about a lack of spaces and safety concerns.

The new multi-storey car park is being funded by through the sale of land to supermarket ASDA which will be completed next year.
