Golf club chips in with huge charity donation

More than £30,000 has been raised for charity through various fundraising activities by The Oxfordshire Golf Club.

Marcus Simmons, club captain, presented a cheque for £30,100 to the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity.

The funds will go towards providing accessible and free-of-charge palliative care within the community.

The most notable fund-raising event was the Captain’s Charity Golf Day in June which raised more than £25,000.

The captain also raised money by donating a sum for every par and birdie he achieved this year.
