THE search is on for the rider of a mini motorbike after he fled a crash which left an eight-year-old girl covered with broken glass.

At around 9.15pm on Friday a green Mini Moto collided with a black Mercedes in Camborne Avenue, but failed to stop.

The Mercedes was damaged on the front passenger door and the window was shattered, spraying fragments of glass over an eight-year-old girl sat in the front passenger seat, but she was not injured.

PC Chris Fallon, investigating, said: “The Mini Moto failed to stop at the incident and I want to trace the rider to establish he is okay and to speak to him in relation to the crash.

“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who saw the Mini Moto, which was a trial style bike with a distinctive red or pink coloured rear tyre, to contact police.”

No one required hospital treatment.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to contact PC Fallon via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
