People in Haddenham are being asked to comment on plans which will help shape future development in the parish.
The parish council has applied to designate their parish as a ‘neighbourhood area’.
Aylesbury Vale District Council is inviting comment on the application, particularly from people living or working in the area, during a six week public consultation.
Neighbourhood planning allows communities to draw up a plan for their area and gives people a say in where new homes, shops and offices should be built, and the design of these new developments.
One of the first steps in developing a neighbourhood plan is that the parish council has to apply to the district council to be designated as a neighbourhood area.
Councillor Carole Paternoster, cabinet member for strategic planning, said: “Neighbourhood plans are intended to give local communities greater influence in deciding the look, feel and location of future development in their area.
“The proposed neighbourhood area would define the area to be covered by the neighbourhood plan.”
