Races on the manor lawn at last year's Towersey fete

A church fete featuring activities for all the family is being held at Towersey Manor.

This year’s event takes place in Towersey on Sunday June 21 between 12.30pm and 4pm and features for the first time free tours of the manor gardens for visitors.

There will also be fun races on the lawn for children and adults including the egg and spoon race and sack race.

Stalls available include bric-a-brac, plants, cakes, preserves and crafts, toys and books, and the Manor Boutique will be stocking nearly new ladies clothes. Activities for children include a bouncy castle, a craft stall featuring a chance to get creative with clay, face painting and a Punch and Judy show. Towersey Morris Men will be dancing in the courtyard and the Village Voices Community Choir will perform some of their songs.

There is also a raffle plus a chance to put a bid into the silent auction.

Refreshments include a barbecue, beer, Pimms and ice creams plus cream teas and cakes will be served in the medieval barn.

There is free parking in a field off Manor Road, Towersey, close to the manor and entry is £2 for adults, with children under 12 free.
