Watlington’s annual Christmas Fair to take place on Saturday December 3.
Fun for all the family, Father Christmas, carriage rides, craft stalls, speciality food stalls, pudding races, and a grand prize draw for a flight in a hot air balloon are all on offer at the popular event.
The lucky winner of the draw could be floating over Oxfordshire in a hot air balloon quaffing champagne. Watlington High Street, which boasts a good range of independent shops, will be lined with stalls selling all sorts of goodies and treats, ideal for presents and stocking fillers. There will be an indoor craft market held at the Memorial Club and, weather permitting, Jelly Bean and Charlie will be giving carriage rides. Visitors will be spoilt for choice with a delicious selection of refreshments from Calnan’s renowned barbecue, tea and biscuits, cakes, to festive mince pies and mulled wine. The café will be open for business as usual and as will all the shops who will be offering promotions, discounts and special offers.
As well as the balloon flight, the grand prize draw will have more than 20 prizes donated by local businesses. Tickets are available on the day and on sale before the fair from selected retailers in the town.
A great family day out, there will be plenty of entertainment for all, with games and competitions organized by the Scouts, the Watlington Fire Engine and crew will be on display, and music will be provided by the ever popular Watlington Concert Band, Icknield Drum Club and St Leonards Church Choir.
