A raid on a sophisticated cannabis growing operation resulted in £5,000 of illegally grown plants being seized by police.

The successful search warrant was executed at an address in Beckley on Thursday August 7.

The cannabis growing facility was discovered hidden in a basement area beneath the property’s garage.

The equipment and plants were seized and destroyed.

The value of the drugs seized is around £5,000 and the facility had the potential to produce the same amount at least four times a year, police said.

Sgt Aidan Donohoe from the Thame neighbourhood team said: “This was an excellent example of several different policing teams working together to achieve a result.

“The Thame neighbourhood team will continue to target and disrupt criminals that are involved in the supply of controlled drugs in our area.

“I would encourage anyone with information about drug dealing in the Thame area to contact us via 101.”

A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of producing and possessing controlled drugs with intent to supply.

He has now been bailed.
