A transport boss is ‘very, very aware’ that many pavements in Bucks are in need of repair.
Janet Blake, Bucks County Council cabinet member for transport, said there have been more complaints about footpaths recently.
The Conservative told a meeting of the county council: “I am very, very aware that they need remedying.
“It’s incumbent upon me to say it is all down to money but I am trying to fight hard to find some money in the budget.
“It won’t be enough but I at least want to make a start on a programme of repair.
“I am very aware there have been more complaints about this of late.”
She was responding to a comment by UKIP’s Andy Huxley, who said: “More and more I hear stories about people having accidents on the footways and I wonder what is in the council’s future programmes to resolve the problem.”
