AN ORGANISATION that supports unpaid carers desperately need volunteers to continue its good work.
The Oxfordshire Volunteer Befriending Service supports unpaid carers is in urgent need at the of volunteers in the Thame area.
The charity works to offer a couple of hours regularly to enable carers to have a break from their role. Being a carer can be emotionally and often physically demanding. Above all, it can leave very little time to do the kinds of things the rest of us take for granted, like going to the shops, having a haircut or just taking a walk.
A carer could be, a husband looking after his wife with Alzheimer’s or a stroke or a son or daughter caring for frail, elderly parents.
As a volunteer, you would be able to offer approximately two hours weekly or fortnightly to sit with patients.
Volunteers will visit the same person every week to build a relationship. If you would like to know more about this volunteering opportunity, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07801 482408.
