A PLETHORA of book characters took over Haddenham St Mary’s School on Thursday as the children celebrated World Book Day.
Each pupil dressed up as their favourite character, which included the likes of Where’s Wally, Harry Potter and Pippy Longstocking.
They were then greeted on the day by the teachers who were also in fancy dress, which created quite an excitement among the children.
Headteacher Hazell Hughes said: “They all really enjoyed it and if they are having fun then it shows they are learning a lot.
“One of the children said it was one of their best days ever and that made it all worthwhile for us.”
The pupils were aged from four to seven years old and each told their own favourite story.
