A BRAND new brewery in Long Crendon has produced its first beers.
The XT Brewery was started by long-time friends Russell Taylor and Gareth Xifaras.
The pair started building and setting up their micro brewery in August and now the first beers are ready.
Based at Notley Farm, the company has produced three different brews.
The idea behind the firm is that each product has a different but distinctive label.
The branding is such that simple two-word descriptions are easily recognisable and show the colour, flavour and how it fits into the full range of XT beer.
At the moment, the pair are making three types, XT2, a ‘fruity gold lighter beer’, XT4, which is ‘mellow amber’ and XT8, which is described as ‘malty chocolate’ and is almost ‘stout-like’.
The intention is to eventually make nine beers, covering the whole range of tastes and strengths.
Russel Taylor said: “At the moment we’re selling it to local pubs. It’s all about building up momentum.
“We don’t have the capacity to bottle our beer yet but we’re selling it in nine pint mini kegs and full barrels.”
