A FORMER Lord Williams’s student recently cycled from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise money for three charities close to his heart.
Alex Saunders cycled 1,016 miles in 11 days with two university friends for Alzheimer’s Research UK, Cancer Research and The Downs Syndrome Association.
Alex said that the hardest part of the trip was cycling over the Highlands while picking up five punctures in one day.
Despite the tough going they stuck to their schedule, covering an average of 100 miles a day.
Alex chose Alzheimer’s Research UK in memory of his grandparents who were both diagnosed with the disease during his childhood.
The current total stands at £1,407 and further donations can be made at www.uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/saundersbrownpark
