France’s premier blues and rock n roll band Big Dez headlines an evening of live music, dancing and food on Saturday..
The Summertime Blues Party is being held at Pitstone Memorial Hall , writes Heather Jan Brunt.
The event will also feature Storm Warning, with two members who live locally, one of whom, Derek White, is promoting the event.
The evening is aimed at the whole family and will include a fish and chip supper, if ordered in advance, and floor space for dancing.
Big Dez plays a mix of great foot tapping original blues/rock and roll numbers as well as classic blues.
The band is one of the best European blues festival bands and has also performed at festivals in America and Cana daand has taken part in the Memphis Blues Challenge in America and got dangerously close to the final.
Storm Warning plays red hot blues with a soulful groove. The members are Stuart Son Maxwell on vocals and harmonica, Bob Moore on guitar, Russ Chaney on drums, Derek White from Aston Clinton on bass, and Ian Salisbury from Wilstone on keyboards.
Doors open at 7.30pm with live music from Storm Warning from 8.15pm.
For the Pitstone appearance Big Dez will be a six piece band.
Admission in advance is £8 or £14 to include the fish and chip supper. Admission on the door will be £10. The fish and chip supper cannot be ordered on the night.
The Summertime Blues Party is supporting the Anniversary Poppy Appeal and there will be a raffle with prizes.
