Thame Bowls Club looking ready for new season

BOWLS: Thame’s policy of playing new bowlers in the club friendly games has paid off with several newcomers performing well enough to play in the league games next season.

The Oxford League Division Three was won by Watlington with 44.5 points.

Thame finished with 43.5 points and are pleased to be back in Division Two for next season.

On Wednesday, Kidlington bowlers arrived at Thame for a mixed game of triples.

Perfect conditions and a fast green were enjoyed by bowlers on all six rinks.

After a very close game Thame managed to win by 104 shots to 92. Top honours went to Derek Goodyear, Barbara Hurley and captain Ron Slater.
