Dinton’s Under 13s welcomed international opposition when touring Swiss National Champions Gingins were the visitors for a 25-over friendly.
Dinton won the toss and elected to bat but were soon in trouble against the accurate opening bowlers of Gingins.
At 32 for 8 a very low score looked like a certainty, however Harry Evans (11 runs) and Lawrence Snookes (12 runs) batted very watchfully to help progress the score to a respectable 86 at the end of the 25 overs.
In reply Gingins were quickly into their stride and at 47 for 1 after 10 overs they were comfortable in their pursuit of the Dinton total.
A flurry of retirements by the visitors didn’t stem the flow of runs and they eased to the total with 5 overs to spare for the loss of only 2 wickets.
After the game the visitors thanked everyone at Dinton for their hospitality and all players were presented with a small trophy to mark the occasion of what the club hopes will now become an annual fixture.
