For the third year running, Thame Ladies have reached the final of the prestigious Top Club Competition.
Having won the competition for the last two years, the ladies now have a great chance of making it a hat-trick of successes.
On Sunday morning, Thame Ladies travelled to Banbury Borough to face the combined teams of Banbury Boro and Boxham and beat them 3-1.
Thame won the singles, pairs and triples and only lost in the fours by one shot. Caroline Walker won the singles 23-16, Doreen Penn and Jill Brooks the pairs 28-20, Maire Duncan, Marthie DuPreez and Val Birchley won the triples 20-17 and Carol Boyland, Margaret Boynton, Ingrid Dale and Maxine Plested lost narrowly 18-17 in the fours.
More details are on the club’s official website. The final will be played at Oxford City and County on Saturday August 25 against either Shiplake, who they beat in last years’ final or Oxford Sports.
