ASTON Clinton’s Mark Webber could not win his home GP in Melbourne on Sunday but did well to recover what had looked a difficult situation to take fourth place.

After starting fifth on the grid following an inauspicious qualifying session on Saturday, Webber drove a sound race strategy to finish behind winner Jenson Button, teammate Seb Vettel and Lewis Hamilton in second and third.

Speaking after the race, Webber said: “Today was a strong showing for us and it was a good day for Red Bull Racing given what we went to bed with last night, we had a bit on, but this was a good comeback. It was a strong start.”
