Brendan Cradden was the toast of Bearbrook Joggers when he was the first over 70 to finish the Cross Country at Cliveden.

More than 500 runners completed the challenging course which included climbing the steps from the Thames to the house twice.

Despite the wettest winter for many years Bearbrook members made light of a course which ran next to the fast flowing Thames.

First home for the Aylesbury club in fine form was Owen Byrne in 41m48s(16th). He was followed by Tony Barrows 49m06s (96th).

The only lady from Bearbrook this year, Sarah Evered, was next 51m09s(130th). Picking up the first over 70 was Cradden 55m02s(214th).

Following him was Peter Mason 57m09s(245th). Coming in at 1h02m46s was Phillip Rance.

Completing the Bearbrook squad at Cliveden was Andrew Gardiner who ran the course in 1h03m43s (375th).
