Vale’s senior ladies did not disappoint in their 8k event at Luton at the weekend coming away with yet another medal.

They were led home by Sophie Delderfield in fourth place (31:31), with Julia Austin in eighth (1 V45) and Debbie Channer in 12th (3 V35). The ladies team finished in silver medal position, completed by Helen Bennewith (2 V55), Jo Card, Sharon Maisey and Heather Fallaize.

The first Vale man home was Rob Taylor who was pleased with his seventh place in his last year before veteran status and following a niggling knee injury. Rich Taylor and Martyn Summerfield continued their return to competition, crossing the line in 19th and 20th respectively. Henry Edwardes-Evans was 39th (12 V40) and Alan Roberts 46th (14 V40).
