Thame struggle to build on win against Bloxham

IN the Oxford League Division 3, Thame managed to win their away game at Bloxham on all four rinks, giving them a useful 6-0 victory.

Thame 87 Maidenhead Town 89

Saturday’s home game against Maidenhead Town was one of the best ever, with both teams enjoying some really close bowling.

With two winning rinks each and drawing on one, the final score was a win for Maidenhead Town with 89 shots to 87. Top rink honours went to Ted Houghton, John Rust, Maurice Ward and Skip Ron Slater winning 21-17.

Wendover 134 Thame 113

At the halfway stage, Thame were holding a one shot lead, but after the tea break the home team started to edge ahead and finished 134 shots to Thame’s 113.

Thame 76 Waddesdon 81

Although Thame won on three of the five rinks, the visitors scored five shots on the last end to win.
