The annual Weston Turville Twosome Tour took place at Ufford Park Golf Club in Suffolk as 12 couples took to the fairways in blazing sunshine.

The main challenge for the competitors was keeping cool in temperatures which reached 100 degrees. For three days battle raged.

With couples playing together on day one, it was felt that to keep harmony in the group all players would be split up on days two and three, and therefore the eventual winners would have to rely on their playing partners in order to secure victory

The Ladies Trophy was keenly contested with Pauline Simmons just edging out Jean Garrett with 235 points, while Neil Garrett, who managed to keep hold of most of his clubs during the weekend was too strong for the rest of the men’s field – his 245 points was 12 shots better than the rest.

Inevitably, the Mixed Trophy was won by the Garrett’s leaving everyone else in their wake.
