HOCKEY: Thame ladies seconds were unfortunate to lose 4-2 to Wokingham ladies in a close match at Thame Leisure Centre.

The home side started well, working hard to penetrate a strong visiting defence, and got the breakthrough they deserved when they went ahead from a smart finish by Amy.

Wokingham hit back almost instantly scoring two and having many more saved by the heroic Thame keeper Helen Copleston.

Thame were able to level the score but the parity was not to last as Wokinham pushed on and managed to noth up a further two goals.

The final score did not reflect the effort of the new Thame team but bodes well for the future as they continue to gel as a team.

Thame Hockey Club train at Thame Leisure Centre on Wednesdays from 8pm.
