Aylesbury Rugby Club is holding a meeting to discuss club governance tonight

Aylesbury Rugby Club will hold a meeting tonight (Friday) to look at the ‘club’s governance’ to continue its ‘ongoing development’.

The meeting, which is open to all paid-up members of ARFC, starts at 8pm at the Ducks’ clubhouse in Weston Turville.

In a statement on their official website club secretary Derek Spence said he has sought guidance from the RFU ahead of the meeting and has been given ‘a great deal of information and advice’.

He said: “Those of you who attended this year’s AGM will remember that the executive undertook to review the club governance structure in light of the recent changes in legal structure and the on-going development of the club.

“I have worked through the material in the context of Aylesbury Rugby Football Club and have made a first stab at a structure for reworking the club’s governance. Note that this is a long way from a formal proposal. It is simply a starting point for discussion.

“The way the club is governed going forward is critical to its ongoing success and you are urged to participate in the discussion.”
