MEMBERS of Thame Bowls Club enjoyed a rare indoor victory last Sunday when they defeated Stoke Mandeville Indoor Bowls Club 121-99.
Made up mainly from members who only bowl outdoors in the summer, Thame nevertheless came back from a 22-shot deficit at the half-way stage of the match to record a memorable victory.
Top rink for Thame was skipped by Maxine Plested who won 35-7, with two other winning rinks skipped by Mel Dale and Vic Brooks who both recorded narrow 21-19 victories.
The summer season kicks off at the Queens Road club on April 21 with a Mixed Open competition.
On Tuesday May 1 and Tuesday May 8, the annual recruitment evenings take place at the club starting at 6pm.
