A MOTOR club from Thame took the honours at a recent rally event in Jersey.
Thame Motor Club members came away with the spoils at Paperclix Jersey Rally on October 14 and 15.
Run over two days, including night races, there were 29 challenging stages.
The club’s members were racing for Bicester-based team Major Motorsport which have their headquarters in Blackthorn.
Simon Mauger with co-driver Brian Cammack won by more than one minute and 26 seconds minutes in their iconic MK2 Escort.
Also from the club Simon’s father Dick and brother Nick finished 32nd and 38th respectively out of the 87 entries. Nick with co-driver Geno Gouveia took third in their class with their 1.3Nissan Micra.
The Maugers and Major Motorsport team then won the overall team award.
The Paperclix Jersey Rally is due to be shown on EuroSport TV on Saturday night.
