After six months of highly competitive golf, the final matches of the singles and doubles match-play events took place at Weston Turville Golf Club.

Finals are often nervous affairs as the players look to get off to a good start.

The singles final featured low handicapper Dom Iannone who has played in the last three finals and won last year. His opponent was Es Hercules who was getting seven shots from his playing partner and who started brilliantly with a level par outward six holes to go four holes up.

Iannone fought back winning holes nine and 11, but he missed a short putt at the 12th hole which would have put pressure on his opponent, and Hercules stepped on the gas and made par on the next three holes to win the 5 and 3.

The doubles event was between the much fancied father and son partnership Tom and Richard Nuttall against Stuart Wibberley and Neil Garrett.

It was Wibberley and Garrett who got off to a flying start with three birdies early on.

Although the Nuttall duo fought back to be only one down after seven holes, with Richard suffering from a long-term shoulder injury the final result was never in doubt with Wibberley and Garrett the victors 5 and 3.
