Aylesbury Rugby Club is appealing for help in its bid to come face-to-face with sporting legends, after being shortlisted in a national competition.
The Ducks are just one of 40 teams to be shortlisted in an annual grassroots campaign called Best Seats in the House.
The competition could see two rugby legends provide a live commentary and question and answers session at Ostlers Field for a special screening of an international rugby match.
The club is competing for votes on the competition organisers AEG’s Facebook page to win the chance to have 100 specially invited guests to the clubhouse to enjoy refreshments during the game, and get the chance to pose their own questions to the professionals. Having battled it out against more than 800 other teams, Aylesbury have already secured an Ultimate Kit and Laundry Package, comprising a bespoke Canterbury kit designed by the team, plus a state of the art AEG washing machine to keep them looking top of their game.
Club supporters will have until Friday December 13 to register their vote.
England rugby star and commentator Will Greenwood said: “The shortlisted clubs have done brilliantly to get this far – but now they are wholly dependent on their local community casting their vote. Don’t miss the chance to help some very special, dedicated people and players to win this fantastic, money-can’t-buy prize.”
